I found how ably it called attention to it's most basic structure fascinating. It's total dedication to that form struck me almost immediately even after hearing an unknowable number of songs structured that way. "So Sick" is one of the most relentlessy verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus songs I've ever heard.

Both "Livin' a Lie" and your typical Ne-Yo song are very trim, maybe even a bit blocky. Most of the people who seem to have glommed onto that song in lieu of the album seem to be big fans of Year of the Gentleman, is that fair? One thing that "Livin' a Lie" shares with most of Ne-Yo's writing (both for himself and others) is a certain fussy conciseness. I've been thinking about the "Livin' a Lie" conumdrum. Well yeah but i dont think that really contradicts my argument all that much! maybe u think it congeals more into 'full character' and i think its a lil more engaged in the artifice of a songwriter who's written shit for other ppl, but either way its not a bunch of fronting thug&b - im pretty surprised anyone would even think to describe it that way - it doesnt give me r kelly vibes in pretty much any way - they're very diff artists

he ends up constructing a pretty well rounded persona imo, and the thugness of "she needs my love" and "i luv your girl" complements, and is complemented, by the rest of the album it's balanced out by the mushy stuff like "purple kisses" and "playin in her hair" (such a sweet song) as well as stuff like "ditch that" - where the dream is pleading and begging, no longer in the 'thug' position of power - and "livin a lie" - which is again about him cheating/stealing, but it's not on a macho tip, instead it's a pretty good portrait about being v much in love. Lil Jon & YoungBloodZ)ĭeej there are songs where he thug postures, but i don't see what's wrong with that. * Nicole Scherzinger - "Powers Out" (feat. * Mariah Carey - "Touch My Body (Remix)" (feat. * Britney Spears - "Me Against the Music" (feat. * Brit and Alex - "Preachin' to the Choir" * Billy Crawford - "Bright Lights Big City" Blige Growing PainsĢ007 I Got Nothin' Left Celine Dion Taking ChancesĢ007 Happily Never After Nicole Scherzinger Her Name Is Nicole 2 Youngstown Down For the Get DownĢ001 Down For The Get Down Youngstown Down For the Get DownĢ001 Float Away Youngstown Down For the Get DownĢ001 So Tight Youngstown Down For the Get DownĢ004 I'm Sorry Christina Milian It's About TimeĢ005 Kick It Wit You Cassidy I'm a HustlaĢ006 The Letter Heather Headley In My MindĢ006 Y'all Ain't Nothin' Christina Milian So Amazin'Ģ006 So Glad Chris Brown Chris Brown's JourneyĢ006 Make Em' Clap To This Paula DeAnda Paula DeAndaĢ006 When It Was Me Paula DeAnda Paula DeAndaĢ006 Like This Snoop Dogg Tha Blue Carpet TreatmentĢ006 Put It in a Letter Mic Little Mic LittleĢ007 Ms.Philadelphia Musiq Soulchild LuvanmusiqĢ007 Flaws and All Beyoncé B'Day Deluxe EditionĢ007 Hate That I Love You Rihanna Good Girl Gone BadĢ007 Good Girl Gone Bad Rihanna Good Girl Gone BadĢ007 Question Existing Rihanna Good Girl Gone BadĢ007 I Get Lonely Corbin Bleu Another SideĢ007 Ain't Nobody Stupid Paula Campbell I Am Paula CampbellĢ007 Work in Progress Mary J. 1999 Pedal To The Steel Youngstown Let's RollĢ001 Away With The Summer Days Youngstown Down For the Get DownĢ001 Dance Floor, Pt.
